The annual U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals list once again features plenty of mesothelioma cancer centers of excellence.

The 2024-2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll was revealed last week on the publication’s website. The honor roll is an annual list intended to aid patients in finding the best medical care and treatment in America for their condition.

The publication evaluates and scores hundreds of hospitals across the United States to compile a list of the most outstanding medical centers based on specific criteria such as overall patient care, patient survival results, quality of life, support services and health care for specific conditions such as cancer. Hospitals scoring the highest in many specific categories were most likely to be named on the “Best Hospitals Honor Roll” of the 20 best medical institutions in the country.

Hospitals are also ranked for specific conditions, such as overall cancer care and lung surgery. These rankings are valuable for people diagnosed with mesothelioma, which is a rare cancer. People with mesothelioma should seek treatment from high-ranking cancer centers. Since mesothelioma forms near the lungs or in the abdominal cavity, people can also look for hospitals ranking well in treatment of lung cancer and gastroenterology cancers.

These rankings can be an indicator of a hospital’s quality but should not be the only consideration. Just because a cancer center or hospital made this list does not mean it is the best option for you. Contact Mesothelioma Guide’s patient advocates to learn about the best hospitals and cancer centers near you that specialize in mesothelioma treatment.
